Keeping up to speed with the ever changing landscape of the planning system is not always easy. Our eBulletin aims to help you. In this edition, we look at some of the changes brought in by the Planning Act, the General Development Procedure Order, the draft Planning Policy Statement on heritage and archaeology and the changing status of Strategic Gaps. We also consider the extension of planning permissions and the re-negotiation of financial contributions in light of the current economic climate.

Our specialist Planning and Environment Team which includes lawyers and planning consultants, provides a complete range of services for the development industry.

The team goes from strength to strength having recently been joined by Philip Kratz to head up our London Planning Team. Philip specialises in planning and development law and has been recognised by the Chambers Directory as a leading individual in planning, and as a “robust advisory who inspires confidence”.

In addition, we have promoted Huw James and Chris Barker to Associate Planner, and Rebekah Ryder and Katie Lamb to Senior Planner.

I hope you find this eBulletin useful and interesting. We can provide free in house training if there is a specific area that you need to know more about. Please let us know if you are interested in this or have any suggestions for future themes or topics you would like us to cover.

Yours sincerely
