In the last bulletin before the Election I made the remark, what colour would the political landscape be? Would it be coalition beige? Blue and yellow in Brighton made history with the first green MP and we have the first coalition since the second World War. We have now had the Emergency Budget in June and points of interest have been picked out and discussed by Peter Cadwallader in his article, I hope this will be of interest.

The other news stories since the last Bulletin have been the volcanic ash cloud and the World Cup. We offer no answers for the dismal performance by the England team, but Tessa Grayson has put together some pointers about problems that can happen on holiday and issues with holiday insurance. Mark Rayner in his article has some advice about keeping off your mobile phone while driving in ‘What Does The Law Say About Mobile Phones While Driving?’

We are fortunate that Brighton based acclaimed crime novelist Peter James has donated some signed copies of his latest book ‘Dead Like You’ as prizes for our Summer Competition. To win, please send your answer to the question posed below (the answer is in one of the articles in this ebulletin) to Angela Rook at angela.rook@dmhstallard.com before the 31 July 2010, the prizes will be drawn on the 1 August 2010. Without being distasteful I would say that I hope Peter James’ victims had read our article from last eBulletin about what can happen if you don’t have a valid current Will. Keeping with the murkier side of Private Client and for pure entertainment there is an article by Michael Coleman which tells the true story of a recent case involving our contentious Probate team. Read it to believe it.

We hope some of this eBulletin is of interest and as always the team in Private Client are happy to listen and help you with your queries.

Question for our Summer Competition:

What was allegedly found in the cocktail cabinet of Mr Raike deceased?
