With doom and gloom the recurrent messages from politicians and the media in these recessionary days, we were pleased to sponsor and attend the DiMAS (the Digital Media Awards South) to meet some of the creative talent behind some of the successful and growing digital businesses in the South. It was a great way to celebrate an interesting year, congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Undoubtedly one of the biggest successes of the digital age, Google, are in the news with the introduction of Street View in the UK and the possible infringement of data protection laws. In the US, Mr & Mrs Boring(!) are suing Google for mental distress from their house being included on Street View. Perhaps “only in the US”, but what's on that side of the pond usually makes its way here....Frank Jenning’s examines some of the issues in “Google-eyed over privacy”.

Lucy looks at the practical changes for technology companies seeking finance.
I have also included details of our Business Immigration seminar which looks at the sponsorship regime and new work permit procedure, this is the most radical of the changes introduced to the current business immigration rules and will have significant impact on those businesses and organisations who may, in the future, need to recruit from outside Europe.
