DMH Stallard recognises that all its staff are valuable and encourages an inclusive culture by seeking ideas and feedback from all its personnel.
So that everyone is clear on the direction of the firm, everyone receives regular updates from the Managing Partner, Tim Aspinall. The Firm also annually holds meetings to enable members of staff to ask Tim any questions about the firm, its management and objectives for the future.
Annually staff and Partners are asked to complete a DMHS Survey in which they can comment on life on the Firm. All the feedback is considered, and reported to the Management Team and Partners. Everyone also receives a summary of the findings, both what we do well and where we can improve. Feedback from previous surveys have led to the Firm introducing a new benefit for all staff and reviewing all the appraisal documentation. From the survey, one of the aspects of Firm life that is most consistently praised by employees and Partners is the colleagues they work with and the friendly atmosphere. This is something we are very proud of.
"DMH Stallard’s commitment to its people, and to providing the right environment for career development, is without question."
Career progression and personal development extend across the firm. Everyone is involved in the personal development programme and meets with their manager at least once a year to review their own plan. The plan considers skills and projects on which an individual wishes to focus in the coming year and how these ambitions are to be supported.
Opportunities for training and development are advertised to all Staff and Partners both via the intranet and through monthly training and development e-mails, listing the future training courses available. Partners regularly deliver know-how and training sessions, to ensure their knowledge and experience is shared with staff developing their career.
We have had the Investors In People (IIP) accreditation since December 2000. Roger Newman, who carried out our last IIP assessment, commented: “DMH Stallard’s commitment to its people, and to providing the right environment for career development, is without question. That commitment is underpinned by a set of processes and practices that deliver targeted learning and development activities that benefit the firm, its people and its clients. As individuals and collectively, people at DMH Stallard are provided with the right tools to progress their own careers, develop their groups and departments, and improve the firm’s service to its clients.”
