On the 14 July the Government announced details of almost 150 housing associations, local authorities, house builders and other providers who had successfully bid for a share of an estimated £1.8 billion investment programme, to deliver 80,000 new affordable homes under the Affordable Homes Programme
The Government has set ambitious targets, promising to deliver 170,000 new affordable homes. There will be an expectation that providers will deliver projects on time and within their allocated budgets. DMH Stallard will be covering the key issues that successful bidders should consider to ensure that they can meet the terms of their funding contracts.
DMH Stallard's report is set to cover:
Framework Delivery Agreements
The HCA has already made changes to the first draft published in July. We will consider the key contractual terms which will be essential for the successful delivery of your project.
Joint Ventures and Special Purpose Vehicles
Providers must satisfy “Investment Partners Qualifications”. We will highlight some alternative approaches to funding using JVs and SPVs.
Project Management
When the time comes to deliver the project, providers must be equipped with the right property and planning advice to ensure they meet their obligations. We will highlight some of the key areas to consider.
Looking forward
We will examine how providers can continue to deliver revenue streams from their housing stock and protect their exposure to risk, once they become occupied.
