DMH Stallard supports charities helping young people dress for success

02 Dec 2021

DMH Stallard organised a clothing drive to support two London based charities, Suited & Booted and Smart Works. The event was organised by the law firm’s London office to collect clothing from members of the firm that could then be donated to unemployed people the charities support by providing professional office clothing for job interviews.

Suited & Booted is a London based charitable organisation that works with Public agencies who refer vulnerable, unemployed and low-income men in need of employment. The charity provides them with suitable interview clothing donated by companies and professionals. They also offer interview advice and mentoring to those in need. In their first year, they helped 800 men prepare for job interviews by providing them with a suit, shirt and tie, and accessories

Smart Works are a UK-wide charity that give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential by providing them with suitable interview clothing to help them secure employment. Women seeking their help are referred from Job Centres, mental health charities, women’s refuges, homeless shelters, the prison service, care service and youth organisations. In 8 years, the charity has succeeded in helping over 20,000 women in eight centres across the UK. 62% of women seeking their support have managed to secure a job within a month of receiving their interview clothing.

Isabel Duce, Partnerships Manager at Smart Works said, “We are so grateful for the support from professional firms like DMH Stallard. Without their help we wouldn’t be able to make such a difference to the lives of so many women every year. We would encourage other city-based firms to consider getting involved in such an important cause”.

Rustom Tata, Partner and Chairman of DMH Stallard said, “A special thank you to our people in the London office who organised the clothing drive. As a business, it is important for us to give back to our local communities by supporting the work of charitable organisations such as Smart Works and Suited & Booted. At DMH Stallard we have a long history of partnering with charities to make a real difference”.

The London office collected a total of 13 boxes of clothing including suits, shirts, blazers, dresses and accessories as part of the clothing drive this month. Thanks to all those who were involved in organising the event and who donated. If you are interested in supporting the above charities, you can find out more information on their websites Suited & Booted and Smart Works.
