9.15am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday


Circa £20,000 - £22,000, dependent on experience

You will work alongside the Head of Client Accounts and the 11 Staff in the Client Accounts team, with the wider Accounts department consisting of over 22 staff.

We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to run both the purchase ledger and counsel fee ledger, including invoice posting, supplier reconciliation and payment runs in compliance with both DMH Stallard internal procedures and Solicitors Accounts Rules. The successful candidate will assist the other members of the Revenue Team during peaks in workload, to include, but not exclusively, bill posting, WIP and disbursement write offs and file closures. They will ensure disbursements are posted accurately and on a timely basis to client ledgers.



The key criteria for the ideal candidate will include:  


  • Good understanding and experience of the purchase ledger function including posting invoices, payment runs and supplier reconciliations
  • Knowledge of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (desirable at recruitment but training can be arranged)
  • Professional service experience beneficial
  • Ability to prioritise work
  • Knowledge of UK VAT requirements
  • Able to work as part of the revenue team, including cover for absent staff
  • Flexible approach to work
  • High level of numeracy
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Good IT skills, including competent user of Microsoft Office
  • Pro-active approach to resolving problems
  • Able to provide a high quality service to internal clients
  • Willing to travel to other offices when required for training, meetings, cover for absent staff etc
