You will work alongside the 7 Partners and Staff in the Private Client Guildford team,  with the wider Private Client group of 30 being based in our other offices.










DMH Stallard is a legal 100 firm with a headcount of 310, which provides integrated legal services from offices in London, Gatwick, Guildford, Horsham and Brighton. We were awarded Corporate Law Firm of the Year by South East Dealmakers in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017.


We are looking for an established Senior Associate/Partner to join our Private Client team, in our Guildford office.


The primary focus of this role will be to lead and manage a small office team within a wider group and department. To offer clients an excellent service tailored to their specific needs. The individual is expected to develop good working relationships with clients, team members and other colleagues.  To achieve the financial targets as defined by the Head of Department, including contributing towards hours and fees, both on an individual basis and to manage and achieve the team’s financial target.



The key criteria for the ideal candidate will include: 


  • Solid experience of Private Client is essential.
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to advice and negotiations.
  • Ability to draft documentation, with excellent attention to detail, and coach others through technical drafting.
  • Ability to provide legal advice to a high standard and act as a business counsellor for clients.
  • Experience of managing and developing client relationships is essential.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of client care, including understanding clients’ objectives, and ensure others do the same.
  • Able to actively contribute to business development, including identifying targets and winning new work from existing clients or new clients.
  • Understand fully the marketplace where the firm and Group operates.
  • Reading publications that comment on developments in the marketplace is required and attending events and reading trade journals about the clients’ markets is highly recommended
  • Able to effectively manage their time to achieve client and internal deadlines.
  • Confident IT skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Digital Dictation and, preferably, Axxia or another case management system.
  • Able to work within a team including leading and delegating tasks as appropriate.
  • Understanding of the strategy and vision of the firm and working with others to implement it.
  • Ability to take the initiative and to take control of a situation, opportunity or project.
