We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Private Client team, in our London office.

 

The primary focus of this role will be to offer and provide clients with an excellent service tailored to their specific needs. The individual is expected to develop good working relationships with clients, team members and other colleagues.  The individual will be expected to achieve the financial targets as defined by the Head of Department, including contributing towards hours and fees, both on an individual basis and to manage and achieve the team’s financial target. The successful candidate will have an established expertise in Private Client law in particular Estate Planning including Will drafting and Trust creation.

 

WHO AND WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The key criteria for the ideal candidate will include: 

 

  • Solid experience of Private Client is essential and in particular in the area of Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning. Anticipate 5-7 years post qualification experience required.
  • Preferably completed STEP qualification - full STEP membership.
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to advising clients.
  • Ability to draft documentation, with excellent attention to detail, and coach others through technical drafting.
  • Ability to provide legal advice to a high standard and act as a trusted adviser to clients.
  • Experience of managing and developing client relationships is essential.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of client care, including understanding clients’ objectives, and ensure others do the same.
  • Able to actively and effectively contribute to business development, including identifying targets, winning new work from existing clients or new clients.
  • Understand fully the marketplace where the firm and Group operates.
  • Reading publications that comment on developments in the marketplace is required and attending events and reading trade journals about the clients’ markets is highly recommended.
  • Able to effectively manage their time to achieve client and internal deadlines.
  • Confident IT skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Digital Dictation and, preferably, Axxia or another case management system.
