You will work alongside the Senior Associate and Partner in the Private Client London team, with the wider Private Client department consisting of over 30 staff and Partners being based in our other offices.

We are looking for a Administration Assistant/Paralegal to join our Private Client group in our London office.   The team deal with a range of private client matters including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax planning and Probate. The successful candidate will provide administration assistance and support to the Private Client London team primarily in London.

 

The role will involve a variety of duties to include general administrative tasks and support, answering the telephone, filing, printing, scanning and binding, photocopying, research, drafting correspondence, drafting simple wills, letter of wishes, trust documents, Lasting Powers of Attorney and all associated documents, assisting with simple probate administration and the preparation of Estate Accounts.  We expect the role to develop as experience allows.

 

WHO AND WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The key criteria for the ideal candidate will include: 

 

  • Previous legal work experience or academic knowledge.  Ideally private client services experience (estate accounts and simple trust administration).
  • A commitment to excellent client care and enthusiasm for private client work.
  • Excellent IT skills with experience in Word, Axxia (preferred but not essential), Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Office Practice and Internet.  Ideally previous experience of digital dictation and a case management system.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing, including dealing directly with clients when required
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong team working ethic
  • Effective administrative skills
  • Accurate and efficient time recording skills
  • Able to identify problems, complaints and risk management
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive
