Personal Injury  


6 – 12 month Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover)


Gatwick (RH10 1DQ)


9.15am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday (1 hour for lunch)


Circa £18,000, dependent on experience

You will work alongside the 6 Partners and Staff in the Personal Injury team.

We are looking for an Administration Assistant/Paralegal to join our Personal Injury team, in our Gatwick office. This is for a 6-12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. The primary focus of this role will be to assist other fee earners in the team on a wide range of Personal Injury related matters including preparation of correspondence and documents from precedents and manuscript in compliance with DMH Stallard house style guide.


The role will involve opening and closing files, diary management, drafting documents, correspondence and reports, preparation of bundles, liaising with clients and third parties, and effective client care. 




The key criteria for the ideal candidate will include: 


  • Effective administrative and organisational skills, including maintaining a database and filing system
  • Effective communication and team working skills
  • Good telephone manner and organisation skills
  • Good IT skills (including Word and Excel)
  • Good attention to detail and able to produce accurate work of a consistently high standard
  • Some previous experience of paralegal work or with a demonstrable ability to do so
  • Knowledge of civil procedures rules and awareness of the recent changes in legislation preferred
  • Able to effectively manage their time to achieve client and internal deadlines
  • Understanding the importance of client care with an ability to deal with a wide range of clients with differing objectives including being able to understand the personal objectives of the client
  • Able to work within a team and provide support to other fee-earners as appropriate
  • Confident Excel skills sufficient to enable the reviewing of relevant matters
  • Competent IT skills including Outlook, Word, Digital Dictation and Axxia
  • Understanding of the strategy and vision of the firm
  • Convey technical legal information in an effective and accessible way
