Property Seminar, Tuesday 8 October - Brighton

12 Sep 2019

Our popular programme of Property Seminars continues in October and are now available to book. As usual we will cover a range of issues which are pertinent to all property professionals including landowners, landlords and tenants, and developers.

The rights of telecoms operators versus the rights of the landowner (Part 2)
Emily Wood

With the high growth in the mobile industry has come enormous investment in network expansion and upgrades. Demand for data usage and consumer demand for digital technologies is going up and up. Telecoms operators need to easily upgrade apparatus and infrastructure to reflect changes in technology. The government’s reform of the telecoms code was designed to support the rollout of this digital communications infrastructure. But has this been at the expense on landowners looking to maintain control of their assets or redevelop their land? In Part 2 of this talk we will look at the rights of landowners to refuse, relocate or remove telecom’s operators apparatus and infrastructure from the land.

Head of Planning Heidi Copland, and Neil Farrow from our Real Estate team, will guide us through a discussion on short term lets, including Air B&B, and the potential planning, transactional and regulatory issues which we are seeing in this area

Senior Associate in our Private Client team, Sara McGrigor, will also discuss  lasting powers of attorney for business and personal affairs.
