DMH Stallard confirms merger with Griffith Smith

Leading south east law firm DMH Stallard has today (26/1/22) announced its merger with Griffith Smith.

Griffith Smith is a modern legal practice with an established heritage and strong roots in Sussex.  This merger will strengthen the services the combined firm provides to private clients in the areas of inheritance tax planning, wills, trusts, power of attorney, estate administration, family, contentious probate and real estate.

Richard Pollins, Managing Partner of DMH Stallard, said:

“Griffith Smith is a well-established and highly regarded firm in the Sussex market and their joining will strengthen the services we provide to private individuals, families, businesses and entrepreneurs.  Our combined offering to high net worth clients is now un-paralleled in Sussex and will strengthen our position as the go to firm for those clients seeking quality advice. The merger will increase choice for our clients who can meet with us virtually or at one of our wide network of office locations throughout Sussex, Surrey and London.”

“This is another key merger for DMH Stallard with a firm comprising top quality partners who share our core values around providing a first-class service to their clients. It is also another important milestone in our broader expansion plans for the coming years as we continue to grow.”

Nadia Cowdrey, Managing Partner and Head of Private Client at Griffith Smith, said:

“Our merger with DMH Stallard is an exciting development for clients of both firms who will benefit from greater expertise across a whole range of legal services.”

DMH Stallard’s merger with Griffith Smith is the fifth in recent years. The firm merged with Brookman in May 2021, Rawlison Butler in 2017 and both AWB Partnership and Ross & Craig Solicitors in 2015.

Richard Pollins added:

“We have seen rapid growth in private client and business services, particularly in the wider Brighton & Hove area, so it is exciting to agree this merger which maintains the continued investment by the firm in our high net worth practice.”

The merger is expected to complete on 31 March 2022.
