Leading south-east law firm DMH Stallard has made a partner appointment in the real estate dispute resolution team in Guildford.
James Picknell joins from Knights where he was a partner in the property litigation team. James becomes the ninth new partner at DMH Stallard this year, following six other external appointments and two internal senior associate promotions.
His experience is vast, representing commercial landlords and tenants in the broadest range of matters, including opposed and unopposed commercial lease renewals, insolvency, assignment and subletting, forfeiture, rent arrears and service charge disputes.
Tina George, Partner and Head of Real Estate at DMH Stallard, said:
“We are delighted to be welcoming James to the team, which further strengthens our substantial regional property dispute resolution capability. It is quite a coup to recruit someone with such a long and distinguished track record in the real estate sector.
“James has specialised in property litigation for 18 years and so adding this wealth of experience to an already high calibre team is exciting news, especially for our clients.”
A large part of James’ caseload has included advising on complex private client and commercial land issues, such as access disputes, restrictive covenants and nuisance claims.
James said:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining DMH Stallard’s renowned real estate department and to be part of the firm’s dynamic and on-going growth across the south-east.”
