As the reigning Corporate Law Firm of the Year, DMH Stallard’s corporate team is celebrating being shortlisted in four separate categories for the Insider South East Dealmakers Awards 2021.
Jonathan Grant has led the team to
Corporate Law Firm of the Year no fewer than five times in recent years, a title the firm has been shortlisted for once again.
Jonathan commented:
“The pandemic has had a dramatic effect on the deals market in the last year, but there have been plenty of positives within complex trading conditions. We had a very busy year in terms of the number of deals; many were of significant value, and several involved overseas trade buyers.
“With a budget fast approaching and changes to Capital Gains Tax and Entrepreneur’s Relief on the horizon, there’s been no let-up yet so when we come up for air, it’s great to receive this kind of recognition in the market. Making it onto four shortlists is testament to the expertise and efforts of the team as a whole in very challenging circumstances for everyone.”
Senior Corporate Counsel,
Abigail Owen, has again been shortlisted for
Corporate Lawyer of the Year. She was also shortlisted in 2020, and won the accolade in 2013 and 2014.
The firm is also shortlisted in
Deal of the Year (£10m+) for the sale of
Accordance Technical Services, a high quality VAT consultancy advising European businesses, to Sovos Compliance LLC, led by
Jonathan Grant. The team was also closely involved in another deal on the shortlist, the sale of
Posturite to Fellowes International.
The deals shortlisted for
Private Equity/Venture Capital Deal of the Year include the sale of
Lightning Fibre, a community minded full fibre network based in East Sussex, to Foresight Group. The deal was led by Abigail Owen. She was also closely involved in another deal shortlisted in this category, the investment in
Ashtons Hospital Pharmacy Services by LDC.
DMH Stallard was named Law Firm of the Year and won Deal of the Year (over 10m) at the 2020 Awards. The firm was also named Law Firm of the Year in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner currently scheduled to take place in June 2021.
