During the weeks leading up to Christmas, DMH Stallard staff took on a charity challenge to collectively trek 4,326km (the distance from the North Pole to St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley) to raise money for this amazing charity; teaming up with Santa Claus to ensure the money raised gets to St Catherine’s by Christmas.
The challenge began on 28 October 2020, with the target of covering the distance by Christmas Eve. The response to this challenge from DMH Stallard staff was incredible. Thanks to their unbelievable efforts, we averaged over 1,000km a week, and on 21 November 2020, we reached St Catherine’s! This far exceeded our expectations and meant we had completed the initial challenge a month before Christmas!
The decision was made to keep our efforts, and our fundraising, going by agreeing to deliver Santa and his sleigh back to the North Pole before Christmas. This meant we had another 4,326km to cover from 22 November onwards.
After a further few weeks of hard work, at around 2pm on 17 December 2020, we crossed the finishing line and got Santa back to the North Pole!
We set ourselves an original target of covering 4,326km in nine weeks, we ended up achieving double that distance, and with a full week to spare. This was an outstanding team effort by DMH Stallard staff. We gave Santa a good week to recover before he sets out tonight.
There’s still time to donate! If you would like to donate and help us reach our fundraising goal then you can do so at
