Miles is a London-based Real Estate Partner who specialises in all aspects of property development and non-contentious construction. He has over 15 years experience acting for housing associations, house-builders and other private sector housing concerns and regularly advises on sale and purchase agreements, development agreements, section 106 agreements, and joint venture agreements, as well as agreements for lease and commercial leases. He has a wide range of experience in projects delivering new housing stock and extra care schemes in stand- alone developments and as part of larger regeneration projects. Other work routinely undertaken includes the negotiation of option agreements, nomination agreements, securitisation work on behalf of housing associations, and an array of infrastructure agreements.
- Due diligence on a 600 dwelling mixed residential and commercial development site in East Anglia to include the variation of an existing Planning Obligation and the drafting of a profit share agreement
- Acting for a housing association in its purchase and construction of a 40 bedroom extra care scheme which involved negotiation with the local authority as land owner, an adjoining PFI operator and a PCT. Issues involved construction access, temporary parking and relocating the PCT in temporary accommodation during the building programme
- The negotiation and purchase of a mixed use development site with outline planning permission consisting approximately 550 residential dwellings, an extra care facility and a care home. Consideration of section 106 triggers and restrictions, infrastructure agreements, obligations to adjoining landowners in respect of a wider development of the area benefiting from a linked planning consent, to include offsite works to both road and rail infrastructure
