The rights of trade union members and issues for employers facing industrial action

With the energy price rises and looming economic uncertainty, there are also signs of greater activity amongst trade unions pressing for inflation busting pay rises. In the public sector at least, industrial action has already been taking place. Employers in the private sector will not be immune from this, even if they do not formally recognise a trade union. We will look at the employment rights of trade union members and some of the key issues for employers facing industrial action by their employees.
