  • Career development

    DMH Stallard fully supports career development. For the firm to be successful and make the most of the opportunities in the marketplace, it is very important that our staff are encouraged and assisted to achieve their full potential. It is in our interest to help you develop your career as quickly as possible and you can count on our support at all times. We recognise that everyone has a valuable contribution to make to DMH Stallard in different ways and at different levels.

     

    The learning and development provision throughout the firm is regarded as first-rate and continues to be a key strength of the firm, the new people development structure is improving the alignment between learning and development (for all employees, not just the professionally qualified) and the business. Every year everyone is invited to participate in an Appraisal meeting. This meeting encourages the review of performance, learning and development needs and career progression.

     

    We encourage employees with their progression both within their teams to more senior roles and with moves across the business from business support roles, to roles within fee-earning groups.

  • SQE

    We have finalised our SQE strategy, which incorporates SQE studiers into our trainee solicitor assessments and maintains our established seat-rotation training model. Applicants who have passed SQE 1 may apply for a two-year training contract via our website under Training Contracts applications.

  • Apprenticeships

    We currently have an apprentice in our Credit Control team working towards the Chartered Institute of Credit Management Level 2. We hope to introduce more apprentices across the business in the near future.

  • Work experience

    DMH Stallard makes a limited number of one week paid work experience placements available for undergraduate and postgraduate students wishing to gain practical experience of working in a law firm. This is aimed at students who have not yet gained a training contract and wish to gain an insight into life at DMH Stallard.

     

    At the current time the work experience scheme is separate from the selection process for the Training Contracts. The aim of our work experience programme is to enable people, at any stage during their legal education, to experience a slice of life in a Law Firm.

     

    We will be holding our summer work experience programme in 2026, however we will not be accepting any further applications as the programme is now full.

     

    Please note we do not arrange work experience during the Christmas and Easter holidays.
