Alice Barrett advises and supports clients on a range of Family law matters including divorce, separation, financial remedy, private children matters and emergency applications. She also advises on prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements to protect family wealth.

Her clients include high net worth individuals, such as business owners, directors, professionals and individuals in the public eye. She is experienced in handling financial matters which involve complex investments, extensive business interests and assets located overseas.

Alice is a committed member of Resolution, the national association for Family lawyers aiming to resolve matters as constructively, and with as little conflict as possible. Where possible, she focuses on negotiating out-of-court settlements to avoid court proceedings.

FINANCIAL SETTLEMENT

Negotiating and agreeing an intricate financial settlement where the parties’ £125 million wealth was largely comprised of complex investment schemes and overseas assets.


CHILDREN PROCEEDINGS

Representing a father in children proceedings where there had been significant parental alienation by the mother.


COHABITATION AGREEMENT

Drafting and advising on a cohabitation agreement for a previous client who wanted to protect her property in her new relationship, post-divorce.


COURT APPLICATION

Acting for a mother in her successful court application to permanently relocate abroad with the parties’ children.


FREEZING INJUNCTION

Obtaining a freezing injunction against a husband’s assets where his wife had reason to believe that money was going to be moved out of the jurisdiction.
