Julia Macey
Partner
Residential Conveyancing
Julia began her legal career working across residential conveyancing, commercial property and development transactions, giving her broad technical experience and a commercially focused perspective across all aspects of property law. Today, she manages a substantial and fast-paced caseload, acting predominantly on residential sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, investment acquisitions and new build transactions.
Originally from New Zealand, Julia is a dual New Zealand and British citizen. She graduated from the University of Auckland with an Honours degree in Psychology before relocating to the UK in 2010, where she trained and qualified as a solicitor (qualifying in 2018) and has since built a successful practice spanning more than 12 years in property law.
Before entering the legal profession, Julia held a management position within the aviation industry, leading teams in a demanding operational environment. The leadership, communication and problem-solving skills developed during that time continue to underpin her legal practice, enabling her to manage complex transactions with confidence, efficiency and a calm, client-focused approach.
Over the course of her career, Julia has built an established portfolio of private clients, investors, developers and professional introducers. Much of her practice has developed organically through reputation, word-of-mouth recommendation and repeat instructions. Many clients have entrusted Julia with multiple property transactions over a number of years and continue to recommend her to family, friends and associates.
Known for her approachable manner, proactive communication and attention to detail, Julia prides herself on building long-term relationships based on trust and exceptional client service. Clients consistently describe her as professional, responsive and reassuring, valuing her ability to provide clear, practical advice, anticipate issues before they arise and maintain momentum on transactions, particularly where time is of the essence. Her objective is always to make what can often be a stressful process as seamless and straightforward as possible.
Julia advises clients throughout the South East, London and across England (primarily working in our Brighton office). She also collaborates closely with colleagues in our other locations and is able to meet with clients across our network of offices by appointment.
Although much of her practice is supported by long-standing client relationships and repeat business, Julia always welcomes enquiries from new clients and would be delighted to discuss how she can assist with any residential or transactional real estate matter.
