Rhod is a Partner and Head of the firm’s Dispute Resolution team in London. He has wide experience of major litigation and arbitration and typically handles substantial and complex disputes.

Reflecting the growing trend among commercial clients to seek alternative ways of defending or protecting their position, Rhod’s practice also includes using alternative means of resolving disputes, such as mediation. His work includes, for example, building claims, issues arising from share sale agreements, professional negligence and property development problems. He is recognised as a particular authority in the area of landlord’s dilapidations claims.

Rhod typically acts for clients across a broad range of sectors including property investment and development, factoring and invoice discounting, construction, recruitment, and banking.

Rhod works primarily in our London office but also collaborates closely with colleagues in our other locations.

Work highlights

Construction claim

Negotiated resolution of a construction claim, using mediation, for the owner of refrigerated warehouse based on defects at the premises. Claim was pursued against the various professionals involved – architects, contractors and structural engineers


Dilapidations claims

Defending a dilapidations claims by a landlord and prosecuting related third party claims against the client’s engineers to offset the landlord’s damages claim. Both claims again resolved through negotiation and mediation


Defending claims made in various jurisdictions against a professional services firm for incorrect advice given in relation to sale of financial products


Lands Tribunal

Successfully applying to the Lands Tribunal to overturn a covenant on land preventing client from their expanding metal recycling business
