Diverse hands held together.

Equality, diversity, inclusion and wellness Supporting each other

We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where all individuals can thrive and where everyone’s contribution is valued. Embracing equality, diversity and inclusion makes a significant contribution to fostering an effective workplace culture that reflects the diverse society we serve. Our EDI approach involves us promoting equal opportunities, preventing discrimination and ensuring inclusivity at all levels. For example, our dedicated Women in Law and Leadership Group focuses on assisting women through their careers to more senior roles in the business. Mental Health and Wellbeing are a strong focus for the firm and a key issue for the legal profession as a whole. We support our people with training and regular awareness sessions on a range of EDI and Wellness topics, backed up by external support resources.

CSR in our communities Supporting charities and communities

Corporate Social Responsibility and the concepts of ‘giving back’ and ‘making a difference’ have long been part of the culture at DMH Stallard. Our approach to CSR focuses on making a contribution in our communities through volunteering our skills, time and resources for charitable fundraising and donations as well as community involvement. There is a wide range of activities for everyone in the firm to get involved with – from sponsored walks, cake sales and quizzes to hands-on involvement for our charitable contacts with painting, gardening and much more. We offer firm-sponsored Volunteer days and are proud supporters of our local communities – encouraging our people to become involved in local memberships, additional roles and initiatives. A number of our people serve on the boards of various organisations, eg as governors of local schools and trustees of charities.

Responsible and sustainable business Supporting the environment and society

We manage our business in a responsible way, taking account of social, ethical and environmental issues. Maintaining high professional standards and a strong corporate governance and risk management ethos are central to our ways of working. We are proud to be accredited by Lexcel, the Law Society’s legal practice quality mark for client care, compliance and practice management. Being a sustainable business also means reducing the impact of our working practices on the environment. We measure our carbon footprint to understand our impact better and have a dedicated Environmental Committee to help take forward further improvements in this area. Actions to date include using paper from sustainable sources (FSC accredited) and purchasing renewable electricity, where this is under our control.
