The Guildford corporate team at law firm DMH Stallard has advised the shareholders of JM Posner Ltd on their sale to Ingå Group Limited.

Based in Sutton in Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, JM Posner is a leading UK supplier of specialist ambient baking and dessert ingredients to the food industry. They specialise in the supply of own brand and branded ingredients in categories including sweet spreads and sauces, chocolate, confectionery, dessert mixes, toppings, baking ingredients, ice cream consumables and savoury sauces.

Helen Mead, Partner at DMH Stallard, led on the deal. She said:

“I, Josie Appleyard and the DMH team were delighted to advise the shareholders on this important next step in the development of JM Posner.

“The growth of the business since 2009 has seen it become a leading supplier in the UK food industry. I’ve no doubt that its future within the Ingå Group will ensure that it will continue to flourish.”

JM Posner has over 10,000 customers across the food industry, including food producers, restaurants/cafés and foodservice suppliers, growing 30% year-on-year since 2021 in both online and offline sales.

Tim Hills, Managing Director of JM Posner, said:

“The expertise and experience brought by the DMH team, led by Helen Mead and Josie Appleyard, was invaluable. They guided us through the legal complexities, and we feel confident they helped secure us the best possible terms and ultimate home for our company with Ingå Group.”

The Ingå Group is a family of ingredients businesses investing in companies delivering sustainable future food. The group is in partnership with, and majority owned by Novax AB, the investment company of the Stockholm-based Axel Johnson Group.

Adrian Short, CEO, Ingå Group said:

“JM Posner is a fantastic business with a great product offering & team to back it up. From the start it was clear that our values and aspirations very much aligned, and we are delighted to welcome them to our family.

“Respecting the already fantastic business that has been built by the team since 2009 and all the capabilities, knowledge and expertise that comes with them, we look forward to working together with Tim & the team to help reach their potential to create sustainable value for customers, the JMP team & our group alike.”
