Private Equity Swoop For Training Market Leader, Trade Skills 4U Ltd

31 Aug 2017

An adult training company is planning to open new centres across the UK following private equity investment.

Trade Skills 4U is the UK’s premier specialist electrical training provider, turning adults with little or no relevant experience into qualified electricians.  Last year, more people passed City & Guilds electrical courses with Trade Skills 4U than with any other UK training provider.

The investment deal with Palatine Private Equity will see the business, that has headquarters in Gatwick, West Sussex, add to their existing training centres in London and Warrington.

Abigail Owen, Corporate Partner at DMH Stallard, led the team advising the shareholders of Trade Skills 4U, she said:

“Having acted for Trade Skills 4U and its shareholders for over 15 years I am very pleased to have completed a deal that will allow the team to expand their UK operation and provides an exit plan for the years to come".

“This is an exciting business that is enjoying steady profit, growth and delivering very positive social impact.  This investment will move the business to the next level”.

It is the first deal from Palatine’s Impact Fund, an investment vehicle targeting profitable growth companies that can deliver a private equity return, and a positive social or environmental impact.
