Jonathan is a Guildford-based
Dispute Resolution and Litigation Partner. He is qualified both as a barrister and a solicitor, with his experience as an advocate strongly underpinning his commercial litigation work and employment practice. His practice is both domestic and international, and involves advising both private individuals and commercial organisations of all sizes.
Jonathan works across areas including commercial dispute resolution including banking and finance, employment and Queens Bench commercial practice.
He is accredited as an Arbitrator by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and also holds a master’s degree in competition law, a specialism greatly valued by many of the firm's commercial clients.
He qualified as a solicitor in 1999.
Notable cases
Jonathan has two reported cases, Rexy Finance Limited v Morgan Stanley International and Close Brothers Limited v Ridsdale and others, both involving banking law, acting in the first case for the Claimant customer(a company based in Singapore and involving aspects of Singaporean and Malaysian banking law) and in the second for the bank.
Recent high profile work includes advising in relation to (1) professional negligence, (2) banking law and advising in relation to the selling of interest rate hedging products and a (3) multiparty competition law case involving an allegation of prohibited concerted practices within the UK.
