Family
Katie Burch advises on a breadth of family matters including the breakdown of relationships, children matters, and applications relating to non-molestation and / or occupation orders. She has advised individuals at all stages of life and has a breadth of clients such as professionals, parents and business owners. She has experience in cases with complex jurisdictional elements and has been successful for both applicants and respondents in relocation applications.
Katie understands that navigating the breakdown of a relationship or other family dispute can be a daunting and overwhelming process and, as a member of Resolution, is committed to resolving disputes in a pragmatic and constructive way. Katie will aim to keep conflict to a minimum and achieve a resolution in the most time and cost-effective way.

Work highlights
CHILD ARRANGEMENTS
Acting for a father who opposed the mother permanently relocating to New Zealand with their children. The mother’s application was refused and an order that the children would spend regular and frequent time with their father was made.
FINANCIAL SETTLEMENT
Negotiating a financial settlement for a wife which resulted in her being able to purchase a property mortgage-free. There was also provision for the wife to receive maintenance until her childcare responsibilities had reduced and she could return to the workplace.
RELOCATION
Obtaining permission for a mother to permanently relocate to Denmark with her two young children.
HIGH NET WORTH FINANCIAL SETTLEMENT
Negotiating a financial settlement in a case with assets in multiple jurisdictions worth over £5m.
