DMH Stallard’s real estate department is consistently ranked as a leading specialist in property dispute resolution and litigation.
We have built a strong reputation on our ability to align our skills to the business objectives of our clients, and to achieve effective commercial solutions to often complex disputes. We understand that clients will usually want to avoid litigation whenever possible and so our team is adept at practical problem solving, effective negotiation and pursuing alternate means of resolving the full range of problems associated with property.
Our team are dedicated property dispute lawyers. We believe it is important for our solicitors to be fully conversant with the property sector. For this reason the team sits within our real estate department working very closely with our property lawyers and planners and only handles property disputes.
Our real estate lawyers are all members of the Property Litigation Association (PLA), and one of our Partners sits on the PLA Law Reform Committee a prestigious body that provides thought leadership within the industry and who regularly lobbies Government on policies and issues relating to property.

We also advise on the full range of residential property issues for private portfolio landlord clients as well as those operating in the Registered Provider and Local Authority sector. This work includes: possession claims; advice on regulated, secure and assured shorthold tenancies; rent arrears; injunctions and antisocial behaviour. We also advise on lease enforcement, service charge recovery, major works consultation, Property Tribunal proceedings as well as leasehold recovery work for many of the firm's most prestigious clients.
The team has a specialism in residential lease extensions and claims by groups of leaseholders to acquire the freehold of their building. The firm was a founding member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP) which is a professional association for legal and valuation specialists operating in the leasehold enfranchisement sector.
We also give particular emphasis to prevention, advising on strategy and policy, as well as risk, and often provide training to both in-house managers and external professionals.
