Clive has over 30 years’ experience of advising and representing clients in relation to a wide range of commercial disputes and contentious matters.

Clive’s experience includes dealing with Commercial Law, professional negligence, insurance litigation, intellectual property, trade and duties-related disputes. Clive’s particular expertise includes shareholder disputes, duty related disputes, insurance related disputes, intellectual property disputes, and contract disputes.

Clive advises both domestic and multi-national clients based within, amongst others, the manufacturing, engineering, insurance, professional services, luxury brands and automotive sectors. Clive not only acts for large scale businesses but also for privately held corporations and for individuals.

Unlawful termination claim

Acting for the UK branch of a major multinational luxury goods brand in defending a claim brought in relation to the alleged unlawful termination of a high-profile dealership agreement.


Shareholder dispute

Acting for a company that owned the proceeds of the sale of substantial valuable development land, in relation to a dispute over the rights of different classes of shareholders to share in capital once distributed. Involved investigating complex settlement proposals that took into account the commercial effect of the court’s costs management powers.


Professional negligence claim

Advising a professional services firm and their insurers upon defence of a claim arising from alleged professional negligence in respect of the inheritance tax implications of creating a discretionary trust, including applying successfully for rescission of the subject trust
