How our dispute resolution lawyers work

With more than 40 lawyers in our commercial litigation and dispute resolution team, we have strong specialist experience and expertise across all major dispute types.

We work in partnership with colleagues from departments across the practice, drawing in specialist skills as required in areas such as banking, real estate, employment, corporate/commercial and intellectual property.

Our style is firm but proportionate, born of an understanding that avoiding rather than encouraging legal conflict usually delivers a better outcome for our clients.

As well as being experienced and successful litigators, we also embrace alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including mediation, arbitration and expert determination as ways of resolving disputes on pragmatic and commercial terms.

Our priority is always to advise our clients on the most appropriate forums for seeking to resolve their disputes.

However a case develops, we know that the pricing of legal services is often a key issue for our clients. We have responded to a demand for flexibility and innovation in this area through our relationships with key litigation funders and insurance brokers, and our commitment to delivering financial certainty every step of the way.  Having agreed the scope of work at the outset, we can then provide a cost for delivering each key stage.

We will always discuss with you the most appropriate funding methods for your case, agreeing fixed or capped fees, contingent arrangements or traditional hourly rates, or a combination.

From our investment in ADR to our commitments on pricing, our clients can be assured at all times of a proven and effective service which is as well-suited to resolving all manner of disputes, whether these are complex, have an international element, are of significant value or are more in the nature of routine day to day commercial disputes.
