How our Professional Negligence Lawyers work

Professional negligence claims can often be complex. Our litigation and dispute resolution specialists will guide you through the complexities and explain matters in simple terms.

We will work with you, and other experts as required, to identify whether you have a legitimate claim or defence to a claim, depending on whether we are working with a potential claimant or defendant.

We focus on achieving the best possible commercial and pragmatic outcomes. In doing so, we will help you choose the most appropriate methods and forums to resolve your dispute.

Our specialists are experienced in all forms of dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.

How we've helped

We acted for one of the world’s leading banks in relation to a mortgage advance of approximately £900,000 against a property valued in the region of £1.1 million. The solicitors instructed by the bank on this transaction had secured a first legal charge on the bank’s behalf, but over the wrong property, which only had a value of around £15,000. Accordingly, our client bank was effectively unsecured against its substantial loan and the situation was further complicated by the borrower having been declared bankrupt. We advised the bank in relation to a claim against its former solicitors and were able to achieve an excellent settlement of this matter for our client with a very significant sum being paid by the former solicitors’ insurers.
