The DMH Stallard legacy of support for the arts has continued throughout the pandemic with a number of Senior Partners playing key roles with organisations in the South East.
Most recently, Heidi Copland, Partner and Head of the Planning and Environment group, has become a trustee of the Phoenix Art Space in Brighton. Under the banner of ‘creating a space for art to flourish’, the venue provides opportunities for a range of creative opportunities in the heart of the city, including 100 affordable artists’ studios, two public galleries, around 15 free exhibitions per year, talks and presentations, short courses and variety of workshops.
Heidi said:
“From both a professional and personal perspective I have a very strong affinity for Brighton & Hove, so I was delighted to become a trustee of the Phoenix Art Space. It has a really vibrant and creative presence in the city that is undoubtedly enhanced by how accessible the space is to residents from local communities and visitors from further afield.”
Tim Ashdown is a Senior Litigation Partner and well known for his interest and involvement in the arts, most notably The Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne. Tim has been a trustee at the Towner since 2014 when the award winning gallery first became an independent charitable trust, chaired by David Dimbleby.

“In addition to being internationally renowned, Towner also makes a major contribution to the cultural and social life of Eastbourne, so it is a real privilege to play a role in such an important gallery.”
Other members of the DMH Stallard team that are involved in the arts include
Kerry Beattie, a Partner in the Real Estate and Construction group, who sits on the board of HOUSE Biennial, a curated programme of contemporary visual arts exhibitions and events, while former DMH Stallard Managing Partner, Tim Aspinall, is a board member of the Royal Pavilion & Museums Trust in Brighton.
