08 Oct 2021

DMH Stallard is delighted to have acted for the buyer, Grob & Co Holdings Limited, on its purchase of the Hotchkiss Group.

The Hotchkiss Group is an engineering and contracting business with six companies and employing over 300 staff in the UK. Hotchkiss was founded in 1885 in Eastbourne and has always had engineering at the heart of its business. It has continued to grow and diversify, becoming the leading ductwork contractor in the UK and providing manufacturing, installation and services throughout the UK and overseas.

Abigail Owen led the DMH Stallard team advising the buyer on the acquisition of the Hotchkiss Group.

Abigail said:
“We were very pleased to be able to advise Grob & Co Holdings Limited on this important transaction, which will allow the Hotchkiss Group to continue to innovate in the engineering market and provide ongoing services to their clients and continuity to their valued staff. It has tremendous potential for growth and we look forward to working with them as they continue to grow and contribute to the local Sussex economy as well as the UK”.

Olivier Grob, director and founder of the buyer, Grob & Co Holdings Limited, commented that
“Abigail has an outstanding grasp of the legal issues and was able to provide us with top level legal advice and a clear commercial approach. It is an exciting time for the Hotchkiss Group and I look forward to continuing to support their growth and development”.

The DMH Stallard team also included Kay Miles (corporate) and Tom Trowbridge (property).

Stephen Rimmer LLP acted as solicitors for the sellers.

EMC Corporate Finance provided the corporate finance advise on this transaction.
