Our award-winning Corporate team has added another trophy to the cabinet with the Insider South East Dealmaker 2021 Award for Private Equity / Venture Capital Deal of the Year.
Led by Abigail Owen, the team advised Lightning Fibre, a new, community minded full fibre network based in East Sussex on its sale to Foresight Group, a leading infrastructure and private equity investment manager. Foresight's investment will support the provision of hyper-fast fibre broadband in East Sussex.
Senior Corporate Counsel Abigail was also shortlisted for Corporate Lawyer of the Year for the second consecutive year. The firm was shortlisted for both Corporate Law Firm of the Year, and for Deal of the Year (£10m+) for the sale of Accordance Technical Services, a high quality VAT consultancy advising European businesses, to Sovos Compliance LLC.
Head of the Corporate team, Jonathan Grant, led on the latter deal. He said: “After a hugely challenging year with complex trading conditions, the recognition of the market and our peers is very rewarding. Being shortlisted in four categories demonstrates the expertise of the team as a whole, and we’re delighted that Abigail’s deal, which involves cutting edge technology and vision, took the prize.”
